Thank you for the lesson, point taken, well spoken. I can see now how the metaphor of crossing the Jordan is a closer and a better analogy of christian living. When you're called out of Egypt it can be liken to when you first hear the Word, or when the seed is thrown, what kind of soil would it land on? if you respond, you are now chosen, that can be liken to the crossing of the red sea. Once in the wilderness, now you have to make your calling [called] and election [chosen] sure by remaining faithful and moving forward in faith out of the wilderness to the next phase,crossing the Jordan River [the place where Christ was baptised and the Holy Spirit descended on Him]. The battles that those who crossed the Jordan had to fight to posess the promised land can be liken to the trials of faith that we go through everyday,overcoming " And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." Matt 11:12. Anyways, keep up the good works! Jackie
